Synopsis

Vamastan is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. Once almost similar to the patriarchal communities of neighbouring Asian countries, Vamastan is now an antithesis of its history. A law passed in 2002 changed the face of the nation - it allowed, rather encouraged, all women to keep guns for self-defence. Women were no longer second class citizens. And the men were soon to realize they were in biblical hell!

Though countries pressurized the Women Front to change the gun law, they argued that if nations were allowed to have nuclear weapons for self-defence, women could keep guns to protect themselves. And no nation could risk rubbing the Front the wrong way. Vamastan had become the world’s biggest agricultural producer and exporter, thanks to the expert farming skills its women had mastered. They could reap four times the produce that other economies could manage in a year. More importantly, the country was the biggest importer of guns, which kept the arms industries around the world well-oiled.

As news of the women-centric laws in Vamastan spreads, the country witnesses a large-scale immigration from other nations, and largely so, from India. Will this lead to political tensions and enmity, or will it push countries such as India to do more to protect their women?
